The target audience for my music promotion campaign
would be women around the ages of 15-18. I have chosen this particular age
range, as the artist used for the album cover is at a similar age, and because
today, this particular age range are into the genre used for this music
campaign. My album cover stands out for the target audience as I have edited
the artist in a certain way, using Photoshop, to show two different sides to
the artist – one being a skeleton and the other being the artist’s face. The
way the artist has been edited, gives an effect on the audience as it makes
them question the two different sides to the artist, and almost ‘’reveals’’ what
kind of music they’ll be hearing from the album. The album would feature in the
popular magazine ‘Kerrang!’ as the genre for my album cover focuses on rock
music, and links to the type of magazine that ‘Kerrang!’ is. The artist can be
represented through language, because I have named my album cover ‘Remains’,
which links to the way that the artist looks. ‘Remains’ connotes that whatever’s
been left over has been removed, used or destroyed. I followed conventions of
album covers as I added a picture of the artist, the album name and the name of
the artist. I followed conventions of magazine interviews by adding things such
as a heading, questions, a drop cap and an image of the artist to my double
page spread. Synergy is used as I have linked products across different media.
